A scarce inscribed piece by William Jewett Tucker (1839-1926), an American Congregational minister and 9th president of Dartmouth College, serving from 1893-1909. Tucker is best remembered for liberalizing theology and for massively expanding Dartmouth, with the elimination of the college’s debt, its student body nearly quadrupling, and over 20 new buildings constructed on campus during his tenure.
