Title: Verceil Ville Forte en Italie, et de Piemont, Capitalle d'une Seigneurie de mesme nom, au Duc de Savoye, située a 44. Deg. 58. minu. de Latitude et a 30. Deg. 22. min. de Longitude, sur la petite Riviere de Cervo qui tombe dans la Sefia et celle si dans la fameuse Riviere du Po.

Description: Antique town plan of Vercelli Italy with fortifications, the city is situated in Piëmont, on the river Sesia in the plain of the river Po between Milan and Turin.
The map is copperplate engraved with hand coloring.

Nicolas De Fer was the official geographer to the French king and a successful publisher.
The son of cartographer Antoine de Fer.
Nicholas was established as an engraver, cartographer and map publisher in Paris.
Nicolas began his career with an apprenticeship to the engraver Louis Spirinx in Paris.
After his death in 1720 De Fer’s property was divided between his sons-in-law Guillaume Danet, François Bénard and Rémi Richer.
