China Airmails

Hong Kong Print Airmails (Unwatermarked)

This is the fifth set of airmail stamps issued by the Republic of China. The difference between the Peking Print and the Hong Print Airmails is seen in the first character of the inscription on the bottom (see figure 1 & 2). The Hong Kong print airmail was printed on both Watermarked and Unwatermarked paper. This was a wartime printing. Because of the Japanese Occupation, printing was moved from Peking to Hong Kong.
