It's The Day of the Dead anytime you look at it...  the day of spooky makeup (and also of festive celebration of those passed on).  Take a close look for the ghostly eyes peering out at you (sometimes you see them sometimes you don't).  The ribbons are loose but can be tied  in a bow or lightly glued on the canvas or sides. Yes, the roses extend up above and beyond the actual canvas.  It was a whim!
Lots of texture, paint, "jewels" and stuff to admire.  I consider myself an artist but not a photographer... please look at the closeup of the faux "jewel/pearls" that adorn the contours.  11 x 14 inch canvas with multilayer, 3-D "collage-like" effect.
No need for a frame... ready to perch on a nail... I paint the whole canvas.
These masks always make me feel the spirit of La Lechuza, the legendary shape-shifting witch who loves to masquerade as owls... people... flowers... even raindrops... or jewels...  or masked ghostly figures.  She is said to hide behind masks sometimes in order to lure men, women and children to their hearts' desires followed by horrible fates.
