Formed in 1970 in London, Queen have had an immeasurable impact on the world of music, revolutionising recording techniques and stage performances. With vocalist Freddie Mercury, guitarist Brian May, John Deacon on bass and drummer Roger Taylor, the band became one of the biggest bands in history, selling over 250 million records. Designed by artist Chris Facey, the reverse of this commemorative UK coin pays tribute to all four Queen members. There's a piano for Mercury, a guitar for May, a drum for Taylor, and a bass guitar for Deacon. The word 'QUEEN' is positioned prominently in the centre of the coin, underlined with a microphone stand.
