This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver porringer and cover has a plain baluster shaped form onto a circular collet foot.
The surface of this Edwardian silver porringer has a planished finish and is embellished with an embossed bordered oval vacant cartouche to either side.
The lower portion of the body is encircled with fine and impressive embossed leaf designs and the upper rim is encompassed with a plain applied moulded border.
This porringer retains the original domed push fit hallmarked cover encircled with further embossed decoration, reflecting the designs to the body.
This fine cup is fitted with two impressive opposing scroll handles embellished with leaf ornamentation to the upper and lower portion of each handpiece.
The underside of the porringer bears the retailer"s mark "Searle & Co, 78 & 79 Lombard ST, London" in addition to the full hallmarks.
