What is it?

Our "Koi" Granite stones are a type of intrusive igneous rock formed deep within the Earth's crust as magma cooled millions of years ago. This particular kind of Granite is composed of brilliant orange Orthoclase Feldspar, black shiny Biotite, and beautiful milky Quartz.

Where does it come from?

This Granite was left behind from volcanic activity and pushed by the massive glaciers that carved our Great Lakes into the Earth. We collect these stones that have been tumbled by the waves of Lake Superior from our Bay Mills Community all along the shores to Grand Marais.

Discovery Story

All of our Granite is ethically sourced from the beaches along Lake Superior. We travel from the private beaches of the Bay Mills Indian Community all the way to the National Beaches of Gumshoes and Grand Marais. These stones are perfectly tumbled by the powerful waves of the lake and are never crushed by heavy machinery. Our goal is and has always been to bring the beauty of our Michigan Beaches directly to you!

Why Choose our Koi Granite?

Our Koi Granite comes from the largest freshwater lake in the world and is naturally tumbled by the powerful waves. It has a distinct pattern that resembles that of  Koi Pond Fish with its black Mica, orange Orthoclase and white milky Quartz. These stones are perfect for gardens, ponds, tanks and crystal projects. They are natural and never crushed by heavy machinery!
