Overview of how to reupholster leather
What to prepare: alcohol or benzine. A cotton swab or paintbrush for applying alcohol, etc. A small slotted screwdriver, bamboo skewer, or a stick with a very thin tip to hold down the leather
・Be sure to remove the old leather. If it is difficult to peel off, drop alcohol directly on the edge of the leather, or dip alcohol on a cotton swab and apply it to the edge of the leather to make it easier to peel off.
・Once the old leather is peeled off, use alcohol to cleanly remove the dirt and glue remaining on the surface to be pasted.
・Apply new leather.
For small areas or areas that are difficult to stick, apply a thin layer of alcohol to the glue surface of the new leather beforehand. This is because the leather can be shifted before the alcohol dries, making it easier to fine-tune the positioning of the leather. Once the alcohol dries, the adhesive will return to its original strength. You can stick the leather cleanly by sticking the leather toward the wider side from around the timer, holes, corners, and other small areas. Use the tip of a small flathead screwdriver, a bamboo skewer, or a very thin stick to press the leather around the holes, timer, edges, and corners for a clean finish.
