RARE Sheaffer Targa 683 Medici Diamond Fountain Pen, GT, M 14K Nib, Box *Nr MINT
Rare vintage pen in superb condition. I have listed it as near mint because there is a faint circular mark on the barrel caused by posting the cap. Otherwise it is mint. This is the Classic full size version and was only produced from 1989 to 1994. It is engine turned brass with a diamond pattern filled with black lacquer with 23K gold plated trim. The fountain pen has a 14K solid gold medium nib and a perfect filler.
This is one of the nicest and rarest examples of a Targa that I have ever sold!!
Condition report:
Superb near mint cosmetic condition. It is engine turned brass with a diamond pattern filled with black lacquer with 23K gold plated trim. The body and cap are unmarked apart from a faint circular mark on the barrel from posting the cap. Only visible on very close inspection. Perfect clean White dot on the clip. All Gold trim is in perfect condition. Stamped "Sheaffer USA" around the cap top. Clip is a nice firm fit and properly aligned. It has a medium 14K solid gold inlaid nib in perfect condition. Comes with a press bar filler also in perfect condition. Also accepts cartridges (1 supplied). Dip tested and writes nicely (see photo of writing sample). Supplied in its Sheaffer presentation box which is in near perfect condition and comes with an instruction booklet and outer carboard sleeve.
This is a particularly fine example in excellent condition of a very collectable and usable pen.
