This is Narrative of The Expedition of an American Squadron to the China Seas and Japan, Performed In the Years 1852, 1853, and 1854, under the Command of Commodore M. C. Perry, United States Navy, By Order of the Government of the United States by Francis Hawks.

It is the first 2 volumes of the 1856 edition published by Beverly Tucker of the US Senate printing office. The books are in rough condition and are worn but the bindings are held together fairly well. The pages have some toning.

This set includes the suppressed "Public Bath at Simoda," lithograph. The spine is missing from the 2nd volume. These books are ex-lib from the Georgetown Riggs library. Feel free to ask questions, request more pictures. Also, please make an offer or reach out if you're interested, it was hard to figure out what these might be valued at. So any offer is appreciated.
