Why buy our ceramics

Therefore each object strictly follows 5 long processing stages: Turning and shaping, Drying and first firing, Enamelling, Decoration and Second firing and aging.

For each of these phases we dedicate the utmost care to every detail so that the final product is the result of a unique, inimitable and unaltered work over time.

Therefore our laboratory is in Caltagirone and all our creations are punched with our brand on the base and fire-signed.

To certify that every single object has gone through the six processing phases that make it authentic and unalterable over time and which has passed rigorous quality controls.

The peculiarities of the product depend on the skills of the master ceramist, his creativity and attention to detail, which is a guarantee of the exclusivity of the piece.

For this reason the ceramic objects of Caltagirone SOFIA are real artwork.

Caltagirone: city of ceramics

The name Caltagirone derives from the Arabic term Qal0at al Ghiran, which means "Rocca dei Vases ".

Ceramic manufacturing in the Caltagirone area dates back to the Neolithic.

The imprint of the various peoples who have colonized Sicily over the centuries can also be perceived in the ceramic processing, despite this, ceramists have always brought out the Sicilian character in their art.

The art of Sicilian ceramic manufacturing has been handed down from generation to generation.

The peculiarities of the product depend on the skills of the master ceramist, his creativity and attention to detail, which is a guarantee of the exclusivity of the piece.
