A fine and impressive, large antique George III English sterling silver cream jug made by Henry Chawner; an addition to our Georgian silver teaware collection

Description

This fine antique George III sterling silver cream jug has an oval shaped form.

The surface of the incurved panelled body is plain and embellished with a bright cut engraved oval carotuche to either side; one side bears the contemporary engraved initials ' and the other remains vacant.

The upper and lower rims are encompassed with applied reed decorated borders.

This fine Georgian silver cream jug is fitted with a plain scrolling handle ornamented with applied moulded decoration.

This impressive example of antique silverware was crafted by the renowned and collectable London silversmith Henry Chawner.

Condition

This antique silver cream jug is a very good gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the base are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of Georgian silverware.
