1990 PRS Custom24 Quilted Maple Top Vintage Yellow Top with Cherry Back in stock!
This is a Virginia Avenue Factory period. (This is the period of arch machining and single action truss rod before the introduction of CNC cutting machine.)
Main specs of the custom model at that time are volume, sweet SW, 5-way rotary PU selector SW, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, cam-style locking pegs, etc.
Condition.
Please be aware that this is a 30+ year old unit that has been in production and shipped. There are some scratches, dents, and peeling paint (on the tip of the headstock and body side edges) that are due to the age of the instrument, but these marks are unavoidable due to normal playing conditions. However, the buckle marks on the back of the body are concentrated in one spot, so you can imagine how few owners there have been. The quilted maple top has a strong fleck that seems to have been wrapped around the epidermis during the growth process, and the vintage yellow top and cherry back finish give it a very special feel!
The case that comes with the instrument is a genuine HC from that time, but it has deteriorated over time. The handle mounting brackets are beginning to loose or deform from the crimped attachment, so they may be dangerous and unsuitable for transport.
