Over 40 years since the original release!

A numbered reprint edition of Keith Jarrett's legendary 10-LP box set ``Sun Bear Concert'' is now available in limited edition, recreated from the original analog source.

Of the eight solo piano concerts he held in Japan in 1976 with producer Manfred Eicher, he performed in Kyoto (Kyoto Kaikan Hall), Osaka (Sankei Hall), Nagoya (Aichi Bunka Auditorium), ``Sun Bear Concerts,'' a complete recording of five performances in Tokyo (Nakano Sunplaza) and Sapporo (Koseinenkin Hall), can be called a groundbreaking achievement in the history of jazz recording.

Down Beat magazine described Jarrett's improvisations on the original release as follows:

"A giant's inventions are overwhelmingly intimate, capable of drawing the listener in and captivating them. Jarrett once again steps into the caverns of his creative consciousness, bringing incredible power, majesty, and warmth. He brought the music he had.”

First released in 1978, this beautifully produced and illustrated 10-disc set of music is rich with incident and detail, revealing Jarrett as a performer with limitless creativity.

"Jarrett proved himself to be one of jazz's greatest improvisers," wrote Ian Carr in his biography of the pianist.

This edition is a reprint of the original LP set, and the late Haus der Kunst curator Okwui Enwezor said, ``This is ECM's signature work that declared independence from the standard packaging of jazz records. "ECM treated the record as a work of art by a musician of the highest artistic and conceptual order."

Recordings of solo concerts held in Kyoto, Osaka, Nagoya, Tokyo, and Sapporo in November 1976 by Japanese engineer Okihiko Kanno and producer Manfred Eicher, who traveled to Japan with Keith Jarrett. A work of art recorded in.

The set's packaging features photos of Klaus Knaup, Tadayuki Naito, and Akira Aimi in the book-shaped packaging designed by Barbara Woilsch.
