A rare book commemorating the US soldiers killed in World War One and buried at Meuse-Argonne, the largest American war cemetery in France.

The 40-page book - The Tree of Joy - was published in 1920 by the New York women's magazine The Delineator.

It includes articles written by suffragist, author and editor Mabel Potter Daggett and has a comprehensive honour roll of the hundreds of US soldiers and marines initially buried in the commune of Landers et St.Georges and later interred at Meuse-Argonne.

Daggett was one of six American journalists invited to tour Paris and Reims in 1916 to witness the war's effects. Her dispatches are included in the booklet.

The cover is chipped and has several small tears but the binding is firm and the internal pages are in excellent condition.
