Mission Profile:  About the Royal Australian Air Force [RAAF] Nos. 3 and 75 Squadrons (source Wikipedia)

No. 3 Squadron is a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) fighter squadron, headquartered at RAAF Base Williamtown, near Newcastle, New South Wales. Established in 1916, it was one of four combat squadrons of the Australian Flying Corps during World War I, and operated on the Western Front in France before being disbanded in 1919. It was re-raised as a permanent squadron of the RAAF in 1925, and during World War II operated in the Mediterranean Theatre. The Cold War years saw the squadron disbanded and re-raised twice. It was based at RAAF Butterworth during the Malayan Emergency and the Indonesia–Malaysia Konfrontasi. Equipped with McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet multi-role fighters from 1986, the squadron deployed to Diego Garcia in 2002 to provide local air defence, and the following year contributed aircraft and crews to the invasion of Iraq as part of Operation Falconer. In April 2016, it deployed to the Middle East as part of the military intervention against ISIL.

No. 75 Squadron is a Royal Australia Air Force (RAAF) fighter unit based at RAAF Base Tindal in the Northern Territory. The squadron was formed in 1942 and saw extensive action in the South West Pacific theatre of World War II operating P-40 Kittyhawks. It was disbanded in 1948, but reformed the following year and operated jet aircraft throughout the Cold War. The squadron was based in Malta from 1952 to 1954, flying de Havilland Vampires, and Malaysia from 1968 to 1983, with Dassault Mirage IIIs, before returning to Australia.

The squadron was re-equipped with F/A-18 Hornet fighters and moved to RAAF Base Tindal in 1988. It was placed on alert to support the Australian-led INTERFET peacekeeping deployment to East Timor in 1999 and saw combat in 2003 as part of the Australian contribution to the invasion of IRAQ.

Collectors' Hint - What are my choices with Model purchasing and collecting?

It is the nature of the Space and Aviation market that Space and Aircraft Models and Kits of important space or aviation flight vehicles tend to be limited in production and sell very quickly.  An example are the premier diecast models like these.

All production 'runs' are limited with no guarantees that there will be more.  Consequently, I learnt a long time to obtain limited offerings when they appear as I lost out on a few key pieces due to hesitating.

In a similar way, I suggest when an opportunity presents itself, make the decision for your model collection and act!
