Perfume "Lights of Moscow" ("New Dawn") is one of the fragrances created in the USSR, in honor of Moscow. A scent that has become an integral part of a bygone era.

The source of inspiration for perfumers was post-war Moscow. Life was getting better, blackouts were abolished, and the streets of the capital began to be illuminated at night. Now, as night fell, the city glowed with bright multi-colored lights, and street lamps created a special atmosphere of warmth and comfort.

Vintage perfume "Lights of Moscow" (from "Novaya Zarya") is a delicate floral bouquet that is buried in warm, enveloping woody notes. The fragrant embodiment of night Moscow.

In some new products released by Soviet perfumers in the first post-war decade, one can see clear traces of the influence of “Red Moscow”. “Lights of Moscow” differs much more from “Red Moscow”, but the kinship can still be traced. In “Lights of Moscow” the “violet-jasmine-spices-resins” frame is still visible, but its proportions are slightly changed: the white floral part is maximized, only a little clove is left from the spices, aldehydes are added.

The result is an aroma that is not inferior to “Red Moscow” in terms of warmth, sweetness and coziness; without its gourmand component, but with its fluffy iris powder. It’s as if they tried to combine “Red Moscow” with the lightness and floweriness that was in fashion immediately before the war, in order to proclaim a return to peaceful life. “Moscow Lights” are generally full of symbolism: they were created in honor of the night lighting of the capital restored in 1947.
