This listing is for a Vintage early 1970's Fender Jazz Bass Guitar Neck. These early 1970's Maple cap neck with black block inlays are very cool. The date stamp on the end of the neck is not legible so we can only estimate the year. This style of 4 bolt neck was only really used between 1970 and 1974 so it's from that general period but most likely it's from 1973 or 1974.

The neck is in fair vintage condition and should install and function properly. The neck does have one issue in that there is a very small hairline crack at the 1st fret. The neck appears straight and the truss rod is functional and turning freely in both directions. The crack at the 1st fret does not appear to be from over tightening the truss rod and is more likely it was just a fragile part of the neck. There is no movement on the crack as you adjust the truss rod. Obviously I am checking the neck without any string tension but as best I can tell without popping it on a bass, the neck is functional and should install properly.
The original frets show quite a bit of wear and divots so it may need some fretwork upon installation and possibly a level or refret depending on your playing style.

The finish on the neck is original and the neck comes as pictured with the original tuners and string tree. The neck has some nicks and dings on the back and around the sides and there is the customary cigarette burn around the low E string tuner. It is missing the strap button at the back of the headstock.
