Driven by a 21-jewel automatic movement, this Seiko 5 Automatic Blue Dial Silver Stainless Steel Mens Watch SNKK27K1 is a classic addition to the Seiko 5 family. Firstly, a dark blue dial is complimented by golden indexes and hand, of which are powered by a 7S26 calibre automatic movement. Secondly, the Seiko 5 logo can be found at the 12 o'clock position with a day and date window seen at the 3 o'clock position. A silver stainless steel case surrounds the dial with hardlex crystal glass sat on top. A silver stainless steel bracelet can then be fastened using a deployment clasp.

Finally, this watch has a water resistance of 30 metres, making it suitable for light splashes.

The Family:

The Seiko 5 family has set the standard in affordable, rugged and stylish watches since 1963. They incorporate simplicity, but seriousness. The name of the Seiko 5 derives from its five key attributes, which Seiko promised to include in every watch that belonged to the family. They are: automatic winding, displaying the day and date in a single window, water resistance, a recessed crown at the 4 o’clock position and a durable metal bracelet.

1963 marked the year that the Seiko 5 acted as a catalyst in the horological revolution in automatic watchmaking. Even after being in the market for over 50 years, albeit the Seiko 5 still remains as cool and relevant as ever. Though this serves as proof that expert craftsmanship and elegant design will never go out of fashion.

The Brand: Seiko

Ceaseless determination to innovate in every aspect of the watchmaker’s art is what defines Seiko’s 135-year history. By embracing this ethos, Seiko has been responsible for a string of industry-leading advances in the technology of time. Notably, the creation of the world’s first quartz watch in 1969. Or equally impressive the creation of the world’s first TV watch in 1982. And even more relevant today, with our abhorrent use of non-renewable energy sources, Seiko’s Kinetic. This watch had the ability to generate its own power from the movement of the wearer, it was released in 1988. The listed technological developments serve as evidence to illustrate the revolutionary impact which Seiko has had on the watchmaking world. They are also remarkably unique in that they manufacture every aspect of every watch in-house. They even grow their own quartz crystals and sapphires, hence why Seiko are renowned for being watchmaking experts.
