1st edition copy of To Love and Be Wise by Josephine Tey, a pen-name for Elizabeth MacKintosh (25 July 1896 - 13 February 1952).  MacKintosh was a Scottish author who also wrote under the name Gordon Daviot.  Her novel, The Daughter of Time, a detective work investigating the death of the Princes in the Tower, was chosen by the Crime Writers’ Association in 1990 as the greatest crime novel of all time.  Under the Gordon Daviot pen name, she also penned multiple plays, such as Richard Bordeaux and The Stars Bow Down.
