Here is a charming antique handmade trinket / jewellery box, with a beautiful painted portrait of a lady on the lid.

The lid is bordered with raised gilt decoration, as is the body of the box. The interior has some poker worked designs, and the base has a signature.

The box has a wonderful patina, with cracking and wear to the painting and gilding showing off it's age. The wood is intact with no breaks or repairs.
