STUNNING GUITAR.  Goya was the brand name used by Levin (Sweden) for the USA market.  This 1958 guitar, according to the Swedish Vintage Guitar register, is the third oldest existing example of their S-18 dreadnought. I can supply a direct link to this data if you are interested.

This particular guitar is a near 100% original apart from a re-fretting a couple of years ago and a new comb a few years prior.  You need to hear a Levin dreadnought to appreciate them but sound-wise they are at least as good as any top end American brand you can name, which is why (probably) Martin bought them out in the 1970's.

The action is good ( under 3mm, low E, it's a well made guitar) and it looks stunning with the nitrocellulose lacquer layer underneath cracking and shows the age of the guitar. Shows up best in picture 2. It's a great looking effect IMO.   Unfortunately I can't play for any length of time anymore (shoulder injury) so time to move her on.  Sad day.

What I've never seen in any other Levin for sale is the original case, complete with receipt and guarantee. It cost $195 dollars back then, (which is equivalent to well over $2000 today) so yes, it was an expensive guitar.   The case is unusable really but you may want to have it re-furbished.  I like it as it is, part of the guitar's history,  and would never use it for transporting the guitar in any event, the guitar is too precious.  I do use a heavily padded faux crocodile skin hard-case, available separately if required.

Please ask away for more information and more pictures if you are interested in buying.   I don't really want to courier this old gem, but if you want it and need it couriered wherever you are I would leave the organising and hence the insurance to the buyer.    However I'd much prefer a handover and will travel for fuel costs within reason

Cash on collection OR if I deliver locally only please, that way you can examine and test play the guitar to make sure that you're happy with your purchase before paying.
