Antique French Print After Guérard Le Fils,

“Cris de Paris: Repasseur, Chaudronnier, Rétameur”

This 19th century colored print is from a series on street vendors in Paris, the “Cris de Paris”, and depicts a knife grinder, a tinsmith and a tinker, as printed under the image. As marked on the lower right hand corner, this print is a composition inspired by engravings of Nicolas Guérard Le Fils, engraver and draughtsman born in 1685, and who published a series of the “Cris de Paris” in 1710. It is framed and under glass. This print and its modern frame are in very good condition, with the exception of some foxing outside the image, some slight warping of the paper and a small, superficial chip on the left hand side of the frame.
