Antique Egyptian Cigarette Case, Nestor Gianaclis Ltd.,

Cairo, Late 19th century

As stamped on the edge of the lid, this antique Egyptian cigarette case made for the French market was manufactured in Italy by “G. Casanova” for Nestor Gianaclis, cigarette manufacturer established in Cairo, Egypt, in the 1860’s. Also stamped on the lid is the inscription, “Nestor. N°1. Gold Tipped. Nestor Gianaclis Ltd. Caire. Egypt” and the coats of arms of the Khedive of Egypt, the Governor of India and the Crown Prince of Greece, for whom the manufacturer was the supplier by special appointment. The sides of the case and the interior of the lid are also stamped. The bottom features an image of the Nestor Gianaclis company’s buildings in Cairo. The box shows significant rust and signs of age and wear including some slight dents, all due to age and normal use.

No questions asked return policy. Items must be returned in 14 business days. Item must be returned undamaged, in its original condition and packed, shipped, and insured in the same manner. Buyer pays return shipping and a 10% restocking fee.
