This is the second iteration of Specialized/Roval Alpinist CLX lightweight carbon disc wheelset (hence CLX II) - which means these are tubeless wheels.  They are little used (60 miles max), and have only ever been run with inner tubes - so no sealant residue!

Incredibly light and strong at 1260g - with rim tape but without tubeless valves (see weighing pics - front 570g, rear 690g).  DT Swiss hubs and spokes,and set up for SRAM XDR, but the freehub is easily swapped out.  They are straight and true, and in perfect working order.  The freewheel is lovely and quiet.  It just purrs!  Frame/bike pictured is not for sale, by the way…

I bought these Alpinists in February 2023 from a guy who had purchased them a couple of months previously from Sigma Sports, and then sold them on to me unused following a change of plan.   I have his December 2022 Sigma receipt for £1575. 

So why am I selling as there's absolutely nothing wrong with these wheels?  I intended them to be summer wheels for my dream bike build.  In the event, I didn't finish the build until well into Autumn last year and only managed to ride them a couple of times before my winter wheels went on.  I've now come to the conclusion that my 'winter' wheels will in fact be fine all year round, and that realistically these Alps, while good to have, are - sadly - surplus to requirements. Plus I'm getting a bit of hassle about there being too many bike bits cluttering up the house!

Consequently these are now reluctantly up for sale at the incredibly generous starting price of £850.  Spring has sprung, the days are getting longer, so grab yourself a stonking bargain!!
