A Superb Edwardian period mahogany inlaid 8 Day striking mantel clock.c.1900. Convex porcelain dial with opening brass bezel, inserted with convex bevelled edge glass front. 8 day French movement striking on the hour and half on a gong. Pendulum driven movement with brass opening rear door.. Peaked top mahogany case with satinwood inlaid panels to the front and fruitwood stringing to the surround. Herringbone inlay to the outer surround and a flame mahogany panel to the centre. Stands on brass bun feet. Cleaned and tested, in full working order. Superb colour and condition. Measures 13.5" x 5" deep x 13" high to the centre.
