1969 Chevrolet Nova Yenko/Jenkins Super Sport SS
Up for your consideration is a 1969 Nova Super Sport. Triple black car having Tuxedo Black paint with a black vinyl top and black bench seat interior. Yenko upgraded the drivetrain in 1982 to an all-aluminum 600HP Can-Am 427 Built by Grumpy Bill Jenkins, M-22 Rock Crusher transmission and a 12 bolt 4.30:1 Posi. Yenko closed in 1982 and this is said to be one of the last Super Cars they built. The motor in this car is very rare and unique, the block is serial # 4 of the 17 Reynolds casted high silicon blocks that are water cooled and machined to 447ci Can-Am specs having 13 to 1 compression. Conventional casted Yenko 427 Aluminum bare blocks by themselves have sold at auctions for $30-50K. This car underwent a six-figure nut and bolt, frame off, rotisserie restoration in 2013. For having been restored over 10 years ago and driven, the car still looks amazing. It's an adrenaline rush to drive this car, it runs strong and is very fast!! With the ZL1 Cam, Hooker headers and 3" chambered exhaust, there is no need for the radio! The Lakewood Slapper Style traction bars, Hurst shifter, Tach and small gauges complete the "day two" car look. Last owner changed the Cragar wheels to steel wheels with hubcaps and bias-plied red line tires to give it a COPO/Yenko look. Previous owners say the car was pretty much street raced its whole life in the PA area. They say it was born a 396/375hp car, obviously the original drivetrain is long gone to show that, also purchased new at Yenko, the NCRS shipping report shows it was delivered to NY, so its close enough and possible that it was transferred to Yenko but no hard proof of that either. It is documented with the 1982 Yenko and Jenkins motor receipts (see pictures). This is a One of One car for someone wanting a unique piece of Super Car history and not wanting to spend Factory Born Yenko money to get there! This Beautiful Nova is located in Cincinnati OH, if needed, I can help locate a shipper and help load. Inspections are encouraged, sold as is, deposits are non-refundable.
