Reception depends on the distance between the regional transmitter and your location. Thick walls, neon lights and energy-consuming electrical appliances (fridge, oven, air-conditioning, etc.) and such as storms or fog can reduce the capacity of the aerial. If possible we would recommend the first searching for channels using a rooftop aerial and then switching to the portable aerial. On some TVs or Set-top Boxes, an integrated aerial boost can be switched on. We also recommend visiting the Freeview UK website for extra tips on using portable aerials.
