Bingata is one of the traditional dyeing techniques representing Ryukyu dyeing and Okinawa. Bingata fissures from the 14th century still exist, and their origin is estimated to be around the 13th century, considering the time when the technique was established.
It is said that ``beni'' refers to colors in general, and ``kata'' refers to various patterns. There is a theory that Yoshitaro Kamakura and Fuyu Inami came up with this definition, but Yoshitaro Kamakura first used it in 1924. It was during the Showa period that the kanji notation for ``Bingata'' began to be widely used. Okinawa Prefecture is often written in hiragana as "Bingata".
This product is printed in bingata.
