Antique 1903 (121 years old) Railway Map of the British Isles - John Bartholomew F.R.G.S.  The only place I found a copy of this was in the Boston Public Library.  I have copied and pasted their information below.  John was and is a famous cartographer.  His firm published a number of maps after his death in 1893 and sold/lent the right to use their plates to make new copies later on.  This one is marked C. Smith & Son (C. Smith was a famous map and globe printer, but was long dead when this was printed).  1903 is printed on the map, so my assumption is this is when this particular map was printed.  The map is glued on another sheet of paper giving it extra strength and the cover is a third sheet of heavy paper with green colored paper pressed to give it a textured surface (see pictures).
