mozart requiem

Boehm's earnest sorrow for Mozart's ``Swan Song'' has come to fruition.

“Boehm honestly conveys the essence of German and Austrian music”

During his lifetime, Karl Böhm (1894-1981) was a famous Austrian conductor who was worshiped like a god by the Vienna Philharmonic and the Berlin Philharmonic, and who was even more popular than Karajan.

Compared to Karajan's flashy music-making style, which polished his music elegantly, Böhm's music, which was simple, simple, and faithful to the music, was highly praised for conveying the essence of German and Austrian classical performance. I did.

From the 1970s onwards, in the last decade of his life from his late 70s to his 80s, Boehm's presence as a guardian of classical music tradition increased, and especially in Japan, coupled with the acclaim of his three performances in Japan, his popularity rapidly increased. It was also a time when its reputation and popularity increased.

This Mozart "Requiem" was recorded by Böhm at the beginning of the last ten years of his life.
