Kampfgruppe Scherer, 105 Tage eingeschlossen. Aufzeichnungen und Fotos aus dem Tagebuch von Kriegsberichterstattung Richard Muck. Mit einem Geleitwort von Generalmajor Scherer. 1943, Gerhard Stalling Verlag, Oldenburg (Oldb)., 130 pp, 10.25 x 8.25", large octavo.

In poor condition. As is. Boards scuffed at edges and bumped/worn at corners. Spine lacking - binding exposed. Both boards attached by binding mesh only - very fragile. Red and black ink on front board remains presentable. Front board bumped at bottom edge. Rear board bumped at fore-edge. Front gutter split at title page. General shelf-wear exhibited throughout text-block, i.e. finger-soiling and toning. Text-block remains intact, boards are almost detached. Perfect candidate for restoration. Please see photos.

Theodor Scherer (1889-1951) was a German Lieutenant General and divisional commander in the Wehrmacht during WWII. He fought in WWI as well, and was captured by the British during the Battle of the Somme. By the start of WWII, Scherer had risen to Colonel and operated as a regimental commander at the Western Front. Scherer and his troops fought in the Holm Pocket in WWII and were awarded the Cholm Shield for their bravery. Scherer also led an infantry assault during the Wehrmacht's crossing of the Marne in June 1940. In March 1941, he was entrusted with the security of Adolf Hitler's headquarters.

Many photos! Interesting WWII contents.
