On offer is this charming figurine/vase created by Betty Lou Nichols Pottery in Southern California in the 1950's.


This figurine is called Emmy Lou.  She stands approx 5" tall.


Emmy Lou is a pretty young girl wearing a cream-colored dress with pink polka dots with a pink bodice.  She has black hair pulled back in two curls down her back with a white bow in her hair.


Under her right arm is a hole where you could put flowers or other small objects.


Emmy Lou is in good vintage condition.  ***She does have over-all crazing, and the discolorations pictured above.   


Betty Lou Nichols is one of the better-known California potters.  She started her business in 1945 and by 1949 had 30 full time employees.  She closed Betty Lou Ceramics in 1962.  She had a book written about her work entitled Head Vases Etc.
