Seller's Notes

Vehicle has only been driven a few miles since refurbishment, so I don’t yet recommend driving it to New York, for example. We have a clear California title, but have not gotten license plates for it. So it should not be driven on California roads until fully registered. As a reminder, this vehicle, nice as it is, is a nearly 40 year old car so please be realistic in your expectations. Buyer must provide a $500 non refundable deposit within 48 hours of auction close. Balance of funds due must be in the form of a wire transfer or cash in person (no exceptions) Vehicle must be picked up within 7 days of auction end. All sales are considered final and vehicle is sold as is where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time

Vehicle Details

We purchased this highly original example last year, from a private collection in Nevada, where it was owned by one person since new.

It had been carefully stored for a number of years and was well preserved, but not running.

It is nearly 100% original and in exceptional condition.

Easy to maintain, Ford powered, rare, English convertible sports car. These are incredible cars which have so many desired features:

Reliable and potent ford engine/transmission. These cars utilize the “cologne” 2800 cc v6 engine proven in many other ford products over the years .

Reliable, economical and efficient fuel injection system.

Lightweight and strong tubular steel frame.

Leather and burled walnut luxurious interior.

3 position convertible and targa styled hardtop. Watertight, quiet, sturdy, and easy to use.

Unique wedge styling that is distinctive and unique.

Ready for show and shine. You’ll have the only one.

Extremely low miles and care of ownership. One owner from new for over 35 years.

A/C, power windows, disc brakes, dual exhaust, 4 wheel independent suspension.

Capable daily driver.

Fiberglass reinforced body gives lightweight performance and excellent handling.

Recent bushings replaced. California Title in my name in hand.

Lovely Silver paint, top and interior are excellent. It is still riding on the originally supplied Goodyear tires (with original spare in trunk). They will definitely need replacing, as they are nearly 40 years old and have flat spots, but the intent is to present the car as originally as possible.

A full series of services have been carried out such as:

- Refurbishing brakes

- Changing all fluids and mostly all belts and hoses

- Replacement of some suspension bushes

- Replacement of many components such as fuel pump, accumulator, filter, ignition modules and many other items too numerous to mention.

It is now in very good driving condition (save for the tires) and a blast to drive with either top, down or in targa position

Undercarriage looks to be painted grey and shows some usual areas of surface rust consistent with a nearly 40 year old car.

All electrics are working (the fuel gage is showing 1/8 of a tank with five gallons. We are not sure of it’s accuracy)

An extremely nice example of a very low production car. Only approximately 500 were made in 1985.

We have the original vehicle ID card and insurance info, from original sale date to recent, showing same owner.
