Description

100th-anniversary release.

A masterpiece of Grumiaux with the ultimate sophistication - the best combination of classics from the analog era.

"The sweet and beautiful tone is the ultimate in sophistication."

Arthur Grumiaux (March 21, 1921 - October 16, 1986) was a famous violinist who carried on the tradition of Franco-Belgian music into the 20th century.

His sweet, lustrous, and beautiful tone was the very essence of grace, the height of sophistication, and he was a violinist who embodied and established the image of the violin as an instrument.

Grumiault's violin, which accurately reproduces what is written in the score without exaggeration such as rubato or portamento, but never becomes imitation, is filled with a restrained romanticism, and has been influenced by everything from Bach to Stravinsky. He has made it possible to interpret a wide range of repertoire with a firm focus on the essence of the work and has left a significant mark on the history of violin performance in the 20th century.
