Known locally as a Khen Lao.

Made from bamboo and handmade.

2 free reeded pipes of different lengths allowing playing a different scales. The pipes are joined together.

Comes with hard case (case colour and design will vary from picture as they are all different)

Khene A very rare and unusual instrument from Vietnam.

This will require alot of practice to master. Working out the right strength to blow is key. Its its a large instrument made from Bamboo.

This item is from Northern Vietnam and is made by the Hmong people. Variations of this instrument are played in Laos and Thailand.  

The most interesting characteristic of the khene is its free reed, which is made of brass or silver.

It is related to Western free-reed instruments such as the harmonium, concertina, accordion, harmonica, and bandoneon, which were developed beginning in the 18th century from the Chinese sheng, a related instrument, a specimen of which had been carried to St. Petersburg, Russia.

Please do not expect a propfessional western-music type instruments. These are hand made items and may appear rough to western sensibilities but its an authentic intrument.
