Pezare was a Painter illustrator and teacher, his full name was Walter John Pezare and was born in Portsmouth, Hampshire. He studied at The Southern College of Art between 1926-1932, and at the Royal College of Art between 1932-1936, under William State Murray (famous potter & artist) and Ernest Tristram, at the Central School of Arts and Crafts,

From 1933-1936 he Exhibited at the Royal Academy and at the Worcester Art Gallery. Pezare was also well known for his poster work for the Air Ministry.

He taught at Bromley College of Art shortly after World War II. The Government Art Collection, Victoria & Albert Museum and British Museum hold his work. He Lived in Tatsfield near Westerham in Kent (where this painting was painted).

A beautiful and large painting, painted in a fresh and light palette depicting an outbuilding in a snowy landscape, full of fine detail and in its original mid 20th Century frame. You can also see a Paul Nash influence in this work by Pezare.
