A Man in Full: A Novel by Tom Wolfe, published by Farrar, Straus, Giroux in 1998, printed in the USA. First Edition, Second Printing.

This copy is SIGNED by the author with a note to a dear friend. Who exactly this "association" is remains unclear. What is known is that this person is very important to the author, judging from the inscription. It reads:

Cruise, 2001
Richard,
Thanks for being the brother I never had. As you read this, think about which Black Stallion was the better man. Love, Tom

Surely, this is in reference to a prior discussion, and suggests that the author shares a close relationship with the recipient. This volume then becomes unique in its history and its relationship with the author. It would make a grand addition to any collection, as it is something of a conversation piece.

This volume is in VERY GOOD condition. The pages are crisp. The binding is tight. The corners of the pages are sharp. The hardcover shows light wear. On the front hardcover the upper left corner and the lower right corner are bumped a bit. On the back cover the upper right and the lower left are bumped slightly. Also there is a small dent of about a quarter inch long on the back cover. The bottom of the pages show some wear and a bit of discoloration from the shelf. All of this is shown in the photos. The dust jacket is in good shape. There is a very small closed tear in the upper left right corner of the dust jacket front, about 5/16", and a similar tear on the upper corner of the back cover portion, about 1/2". The top of the spine of the DJ is bent a bit, but not torn. The lower edge of the dust jacket is slightly stained. Again, please see the photos.

Over all, this is a fine copy that is in highly collectible condition.
