Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm1:4-5.6G ED VR Lens with Lens Shield and Bag-USED

This lens was my brother's.  See photos and note the following:
 - From what I can tell as a non photographer, this lens looks to be in very good shape,
 - - I took photos of the front and back of the lens from different angles.  I do not see any scratches of damage to the lens or the area at the back part of the lens that attaches to the camera.
 - The camera opens smoothly from the "closed position" of 55mm to the extended opening of 200mm
 - Camera has a front and rear lens cap
 - Includes a lens shield (2 inches deep) and Nikon storage bag

I never used this lens.  My brother was the original owner.
 - If there is a different photo that would help you know more about the lens, let me know.  Any questions please write and thanks for viewing.

THE BELOW IS PER NIKON.COM website.  I looked up the different symbols on the camera body (as shown in the attached photos) to understand their meaning.  Please verify the below on your own prior to purchase.

Per the Nikon website, this lens is described as follows:
The Nikon AF-S DX VR Zoom-NIKKOR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED is an ideal telephoto zoom lens for those seeking a lightweight all-in-one lens or a companion lens for the 18-55mm kit lens that came with their camera. Vibration Reduction (VR) significantly reduces camera shake throughout the entire focal length, making sharp telephoto shots substantially easier to achieve. An ideal lens for sports, people and school events, this lens provides clear images with less blur.

VR: Vibration Resistant:  A Nikon in-lens technology that improves image stability by automatically compensating for camera shake. Lenses that offer VR will feature the abbreviation VR on the lens barrel.

DX-format 3.6x zoom lens with VR: This 3.6x zoom, designed exclusively for use with Nikon’s DX-format D-SLR cameras, features Nikon’s VR (Vibration Reduction) image stabilization and is perfect for portraits and action. Nikon VR (Vibration Reduction) image stabilization provides 3.0 stops* of blur free handheld shooting, assuring dramatically sharper still images and HD video capture.

IF Lens: A NIKKOR lens in which only the internal lens group shifts during focusing. These lenses will be designated with the abbreviation IF on the lens barrel.

ED (Extra-Low Dispersion): An optical glass developed by Nikon that is used with normal optical glass in telephoto lenses to obtain optimum correction of chromatic aberrations.

SWM: AF-S NIKKOR lenses feature Nikon’s Silent Wave Motor, which represents a significant advance in AF lens technology.

A-M: A-M stands for Auto-Manual Mode. Thanks to a mechanism incorporated in the lens barrel, smooth focusing operation in Manual focus mode is realized in the same way as users have become accustomed to with conventional manual-focus lenses by adding an appropriate torque to the focus ring.
