Thomas ‘Tom’ Francis ‘Ginger’ Neil, DFC & Bar, AFC, AE (1920–2018) was a British aviator, fighter pilot and flying ace in the Royal Air Force. He flew during the Battle of Britain, and shot down 14 enemy aircraft during the Second World War. He served from 1938 to 1964 and achieved the rank of Wing Commander. His unit was No. 249 Squadron and the commands he held were No.41 Squadron and No.208 Squadron.

Robert William Foster, DFC (1920- 2014). He was one of the heroes of the Battle of Britain, flying hurricanes and spitfires with 605, Squadron. He was credited with destroying and damaging a number of enemy aircraft; later in the war, he destroyed at least five Japanese aircraft flying from airfields in northern Australia. When he died in 2014 a Hurricane R4118 flew over, he had flown this in the Battle of Britain.

He was chairman of the Battle of Britain, fighter Association and president of the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust.
