For sale is a VERY rare First Edition of Martin Chuzzlewit, by Charles Dickens. Published by Chapman and Hall, London, 1844. A complete suite of plates by Phiz. 624p.p. 8vo.


Bound in a very fine original full claret straightgrain morocco. The binding boasts beautiful tooling in gilt to the panels, separated by raised bands, and the title directly in gilt. To the boards, panels in gilt and blind. Original slate-grey endpapers. A newspaper cutting, pertaining to the Dickens Fellowship, pasted in to the front pastedown,


Externally it is in most pleasing condition, with the morocco and gilt largely very bright, and the hinges very firm.


Internally collated as fully complete, and aside from the typical browning to the plates, it remains pleasingly bright.
