Having the prices realized is actually only a minor part of this catalogue, though it is rarely found with this catalogue.

The REAL value of this catalogue is the detail diagrams of the gold coins of Mexico City and Santa Fe de Bogota, year by year, with the changes of the designs for both the obverse and reverse.     These diagrams are far better than those pictured in The Practical Book of Cobs on pages 22~26 and 139~140.  If you are seeking exact dating or even accurate bracket dating, this catalogue is definitely for you.  Combined with the assayer 'L" for Martin López or "J" for José Eustaquio de León and the variants for mint initials, M, oM or oXM, it is quite possible to narrow the date(s.)  The 1715 Fleet cobs are listed from page 130 to 191.   This catalogue is an invaluable tool for anyone collecting the gold cobs of this period.  Silver from Mexico City is also included.    This seller has used this catalogue to prove dating to NGC.

The designs of the Hapsburg shield from Bogota are also included:  There are eleven (11!) different styles of shields from this period of 1690 to 1708.  The two different cross styles are shown and are highly useful in dating these crude 2 Escudos cobs.

All photos are in black and white.

These catalogues are absolutely brand new coming from a full case which was found in the Florida Keys.  We add a copy of the prices realized.

As a side note, this seller was present at this auction at the Long Beach International Coin & Stamp Exposition on February 17~19 1977.  The sale was conducted by Bowers and Ruddy Galleries of Los Angeles.
