Solid oak & quite a nice piece of history!  ...1940's WWII US NAVY spyglass transport box... at one time it would have carried a long monocular spyglass telescope used to spot ships in the distance!  Would make a really neat transport box for maybe a few of your small fire arms or load it with your ammunition (pop this historical box open on the bed of your truck next time you go shooting)... measures about 32.5" long & about 4.75" x 4.75"...
