CARL ZEISS optical instruments really need no introduction at all.

This listing is for a rarely available used model, a CARL ZEISS VICTORY FL 8 x 42 T*. This binocular is in excellent used condition – a previous careful owner has used it regularly as can be guessed from some of the wear on the neck strap and rainguard, but the binocular itself remains very clean. The handling is excellent and the focusing controls are very smooth. The view out is superb – no wonder owners tend to hang on these VICTORY models. ZEISS claimed the VICTORY as a fully waterproof binocular with nitrogen filling, fully multi coated optics, phase corrected coatings and extra low dispersion (ED) glass. This example comes in its good original case (no case strap); with neoprene ZEISS neckstrap; ZEISS rainguard and ZEISS objective lens caps and a ZEISS lens cloth still housed in its slightly tatty wallet.

Defects: very light signs of use around the exterior of the binocular; shining a small bright torch into the oculars whilst viewing in reverse reveals some tiny internal dust specks and a small patch of very minor edge haze on a prism in the l.h. side; the r.h. eyecup is stiff in operation; neckstrap has some wear.

i take great care examining, using and describing the binoculars i sell, and always get a second opinion. however, i am not a professional and my description is based on my experience and honest assessment; most examples i sell are at least 35 years old and there may be other defects.......also, please remember, everyone`s eyes are different.....
