Origin: Introductio in Universam Geographicam, edited by Johann Friedrich Heckel in the 17th century by Philip Cluver with excellent hand coloring and attractive title cartouche. The map is in excellent condition.

Artist: Phillip Cluver, or Phillip Cluverius, studied law in Leiden and settled over there in 1615.
