Vintage Pobeda watches

Immediately after the victory in the Great Patriotic War, the first watches that were issued were called "Pobeda". Literally translated, this means Victory. The name was approved personally by Stalin, recognizing that victory was not easy. All the watch factories - 1st Moscow Watch Factory, 2nd Moscow Factory, Chistopol, and Petrodvorets - began producing new models bearing the name "Pobeda". This original watch design went through numerous structually changes and refinements until the final engineering development: 15 jewels. Despite the simplicity of the design, the watch turned out to be of exceptionally high quality. Features such as a power reserve of 36 hours, a shock-proofed balance, a fully-jelewed movement, and ease of repair made this watch the MOST POPULAR in the Soviet Union. To this day, this mechanism is used in the manufacture of solid gold Russian watches.
