Stunning 1800's Fine Islamic Brass Tray Inlaid with Silver. Adorned with Sublime Arabic Calligraphy, Arabesques and Repetitive Patterns. A Must for Collectors Of Cairoware ,Mamluk Revival ,Persian & Islamic Art in General. The technique of silver and brass inlay was revived in the late 1700's and 1800's in the Islamic world. The process is difficult and requires several stages of mastery. Indeed, after the item has been cast or hammered into shape it is then covered in the calligraphy and patterns. After this difficult stage its engraved by hand. These impressive trays have writing in silver around the rim as well. Impressive weight of 219 grams about 109.5 grams each.
