A vase made by Japanese Master Potter Sakai Kobu (1936-)


Softly thrown and decorated with a grey brown shino glaze.


Dimensions approx 10.8cm wide, 20.5cm tall.

Incised potters marks on base.


Perfect condition.


Complete with the original signed box. 


Sakai Kobu is a Toki Prefecture Living national treasure and is well now for his Kobu-Shino glaze that exudes a soft, ethereal appearance. Sakai is well exhibited and published throughout Japan. Sakai’s development of his unique Kobu-Shino has played an important role in the contemporary Shino scene and his work is influencing the style of a whole new generation of potters.
