Kashan comes from the Persian kashi, meaning "tile".

Kashan carpets have a very elegant appearance, their balanced patterns in floral ornaments and the subtle fullness of the contrasting colors ivory/beige and blue are very popular in Europe.

Intertwined floral spokes often surround a diamond-shaped medallion. Even the corners are richly decorated.

Kashans are knotted exclusively at home. Depending on the quality, the knotting density is between 250,000 and 600,000 knots per square meter.
