purchased in mid 2022 to use as a very high quality digital source to use with my music system. 

ordered directly from the US. It is designed to be fitted as a ‘hat’ to Raspberry Pi. The benefit of the design is extremely low noise and very low jitter. I have installed it into a transparent acrylic case. 

In addition to the PI2AES card, you are also getting everything you need for the device to work as a streamer e.g. the acrylic case, a Raspberry Pi, an SD card configured to run Volumio. 

The device works extremely well as a digital source - I used it with Quboz and it sounded fantastic - much better than a CD in my opinion.

I also installed the popular “5v mod”. This was designed to further reduce any interference from the power supply by sending clean 5v power directly to the Pi2AES device. 

I will include the iFi iPower 5v power supply, but I would recommend using this. (If you don’t want to use the better quality power supply, remove the mod and it can then be powered directly via the Raspberry Pi)
